Cooking shows always seem to have something pre-prepared! That makes it so that you can’t cook in real time! But I guess if it were in real time, it’d be pretty boring and would take up way too much time. Not that I watch cooking shows because I want to cook or anything (I can’t cook). The food’s just nice to look at. Though it kinda makes me wonder how many people actually cook while watching cooking shows, and happen to have all the required materials when the show airs on TV, without knowing beforehand what the episode is going to be about.
Poor UC. Should’ve made friends with the show’s staff, then you could’ve cheated.
Anyways, for something closer to “real time” cooking on TV, try watching reruns (or getting DVDs) of the original Iron Chef. Sure some of the actual prep work is cut for time, but all the major cooking is actually done within the amount of time stated!
Anyone who can have all the ingredients ready for a cooking show before knowing what it’s about is either a) defying the laws of time and space or b) Martha Stewart.
@Sprocket:
PLEASE tell me where I can buy DVDs of the original Iron Chef series. Even better if it is an English site, but I’d be willing to muddle through anything. I thought they didn’t exist.
It actually hadn’t occurred to me that there wouldn’t be DVDs of the series available, but amazingly, there are not. (Iron Chef America, yes, but not the original.) It’s apparently currently airing on Food Network’s sister channel, Fine Living Network. I guess they don’t want DVD sales to detract from potential viewership.
Its like those shows like Art Attack
“We paint this and put glue like this, let it dry for a couple of hours and it should look like this” and they put something really nice and different from the one they were making.
You can go to food network.com and get recipice from all there shows. That’s how I see most people cooking after they see a show with some food they really like
and for something that is actually in real time you can watch Rachel Ray’s 30 minute meals, or at least they advertise it that way. She usually does someing trivial over the commercials like, “while over the brake ill just cut up these potatoes.”
You know, Ready Steady Cook on the BBC shows you meals that are possible in 10 or 20 minutes – chefs don’t get more time. They get a shopping bag with random ingredients, and then they have to do with that.
well if it did show the full process it would have to fast forward greatly
but yea they always have something pre-prepared, makes you wonder how many they actually make, and what they do with such a delicious thing afterwards
Here! I dont have a sample!
Cause Ample Time is what we dont have!
Cause Money and time is what we dont have!
A Chicken in the kitchen is making all the sound-the cake is done while we were sitting arround!
All we gotta do is apply the final touches..
I had that song stuck in my head after this
So the lesson to be learned here is to always have something pre-prepared when you want to make something?
In contra-position, I should always leave what I prepare so I can use it in the future.
What.
I watch cooking shows to look at the food as well. I am a crappy cook.

A hahaha.
Pre-preparing things is so useful sometimes.
Normal End: Wow, UC!
Secret End: Oh, silly UC~!
It takes a while to make a comment but thankfully I had this one pre-prepared
I want to try UC’s cooking.
That’s quite hypocritical of those cooking shows D:<
Foresight cannot be considered cheating. Yomi da, yomi.
So have I always been missing these secret endings?
Awesome. |3

@Ningyo: Yes. Now you will have to go back and check about 100 daily flashes.
@I will marry Cirno: It is magic!
…wait no, it was… yes, they were small bombs!
Crack, crack, crack, the egg into the bowl!
You got me at the last frame. Had a good chuckle hehehe

Luckily, I have a pre-prepared comment too!
Wow it sure does take a long (?) to make this…
Whoops, forgot the word “time”. I’ll fix that later.
One show doesn’t do this, but only ‘cus of the nature of the show (30 minute meals with Rachael Ray)
also: Food Network is awesome.
That was pretty funny. ^^
first watch and take notes, then cook o_o
No Mystia?
Anyway… LET’S COOK!
Gosh darn it.
And what WAS that you guys pre-prepared?!
Unnamed Character is always ready for anything!
KirbyM: Gosh, I sure have a lot of work to do today… It’s going to take me a while to make a post. Luckily, here’s a post I already prepared! :D
Watching them reminds me of Informercials at 4:00 AM for some reason.
10 more flashes until the big 300th!
But how did you get out of the tv? …oh wait, you didn’t.
Next, I will make a witty comment…
That one was pre- *Gets shot*
well if it did show the full process it would have to fast forward greatly

Perfect example of a cooking show here! How convenient.
It’s EPIC FORESHADOWING~ =w=
unnamed charater + apron + cooking skills = cuteee~

It seems that I have to think on a good reply for this…
But luckily I already have one pre-prepared!
… Heh… Its funny
They probably tape the show before they make their attempt at trying out the recipe shown, lol.. or that’s my impression..
Sometimes that’s why they sell DVDs (and VHS tapes previously) for the cooking show. :U
Zephyranthes, you suck…
Zephyranthes Stole the Witty Comment.
*Shotguns you*
