Safety Manuals

Had an orientation for machine shop safety today, which was followed by a ~50 question multiple choice test. Little did I know that we were supposed to have read a safety manual (actually, I did know, but I just read the safety guidelines, which I thought was the manual, until I realized it wasn’t) or that we were allowed to print them out and use them during the test, but a lot of the questions kinda seemed like common sense, though not as easy as the ones in the daily flash. Many questions were about things discussed/shown in the orientation, so paying attention is necessary (which I did!). Some of the questions were kinda specific, and I didn’t know those so I kinda guessed, and got some of them correct. The tests were checked right after we finished taking them, and I passed! Actually I don’t think failing it really does anything; you just have to retake the test or something. And yeah. Safety. I guess I will read that manual even though I don’t think I’ll really be using the machine shop that often.

  • The answers were A,A,C right? Did I pass?

  • No.
    It’s B,C,C.

  • Pretty sure it’s C,C,C.

  • ROFL. Answers were A,A,C. I thought that they were OBVIOUS. I mean anyone with /common sense/ could see that! XDDD

  • For the last one, everyone knows the googles do nothing, and you shouldn’t bother people with sharp blades.

By elimination, you have to throw an screwdriver across the room.

  • Actually i thought A,C,A, was right.

  • pretty sure the answer is A,C,C. seriously

  • I think UNC’s expression in the last frame was awesome.

    8<

  • You’re all wrong. The answer is obviously 42.

  • It’s AAC duh im just as smart as cirno, ( she a guneis)

  • Ah yes… Safety Manual tests.
It should be obvious, but Manual tests are a complete waste of time. At least a safety one could be important, but a LIBRARY manual one? Not. at. all. And yes, I suffered from this one. The only prerequisite is to have common sense.

Also, BCC, because screwdrivers are awesome!

  • I love her reaction so much. The closed mouth makes it so much better than just a standard shocked face.

  • Hmm, a 50 multiple choice question test on safety… I can see the logic but not sure why they needed that many questions. A common sense check is always good, since you’d be suprised how scarce ‘common’ sense actually is. More true when dealing with stuff you don’t encounter in everyday life, such as “if there’s a leakage of Liquid Helium signalled by the alarm, GET DOWN ON THE FLOOR and crawl out”.

On that note, Liquid Nitrogen is not a “touch it and you freeze” substance despite being so cold – unless you happen to have a very hairy hand.

  • You are all mistaken, people. The only who got it right so far seems to be Crimson_SoulZ, ACC.

Allow me to construe: Despite we could choose various answers for the first question, one would naturally select the “safest” one in a standalone point of view; that would be C. But since we are working here with multiple safety measures, we can take A for example (because it’s the most damned fun out of the three and B wouldn’t let the professor join in the fun); it would look like an irresponsible scenario by itself, but if we decide to go for C in the second question then the risks lowers considerably, and thus, makes a profitable decision (that is, being able to throw screwdrivers around!).
Finally, the third and last question asks us about what decision should we take upon entering said shop, taking aside the fact that a pair of goggles isn’t going to help you avoid the screwdriver gouging deep in your head and/or leg, the obvious answer here is and should always be C, considering that we chose from the beginning that throwing screwdrivers around was “Always okay”.
This would eventually lead to the aforementioned answer: ACC.

And then we all should arrive at the Golden Land. And everybody will be resurrected. And there will be cake.

By the way, that was a nice face.

  • Everything is about paying attention.

With that we can say anwers were A, C and C.

  • …Knowing the nature of the chat, no one would probably ever answer C, C, A.

  • @Imperishable Fairy. well… if dou you want make a web search google is very useful.

  • No, you’re all mistaking! The correct answers are ⑨⑨⑨!

  • Or maybe it was B,A,D. BAD!

  • … If I ever cross ways with any of you, I will have my “Heavy and Stainless Screwdrivers” set ready for it in my bag -.-“

  • B FOR EVERYTHING! YAY FOR THROWING SCREWDRIVERS!! \owo/

  • LOL At unnamed charater’s face!

  • Im sure this is supposed to be a joke thread, but somehow im getting confused at the lack of common sense xD

    because the answers should be:
    1. D: when you’re IN the machine shop
    2. D: when you’re IN the machine shop to watch out for screw drivers
    3. D: to see you have a screw driver to throw

  • 50 question multiple-choice exam on safety… I had to take one of those tests in a woodworking class I (unwillingly) took. Believe it or not, most of the questions were like the ones in the daily flash. Either way, this was funny.

By the way, the answers are C, C, and C. All 3 of them are C because 3, the total number of visible questions on that test, is the square root of ⑨.
