Yeah, the only problem with having the “back” layer above the “head” layer would be stuff like this:

Otherwise, I would’ve changed the order of the layers a long time ago. Theoretically, I could put the actual head on a different layer from the hair, but I have a feeling that it’d still look weird. And there’s the fact that I’d probably have to redraw a lot of stuff. Which is bad.
