Hey, Walfas, just noticed a thing on nicovideo about your Christmas Carol flash’s extra. Did you plan out the コロシマス – クリスマス joke for our japanese friends, or was it pure coincidence?
Well, considering I don’t know what “コロシマス – クリスマス” is, it was probably a coincidence. The only joke I made specifically for the people at Nicovideo was the Mikovideo thing. But I’m interested as to what this “コロシマス – クリスマス” joke is. :o
Wait, so let me get this clear… in the Christmas flash extra, when Reimu says “I’m gonna kill you” to Cirno, it gets translated to “コロシマス” (Which I assume means the same thing). And “コロシマス”, which is pronounced “KOROSHIMASU” (According to Google translator), actually sounds like the Japanese pronunciation of “Christmas.” If so, that’s a HUGE coincidence, because I didn’t intend for “I’m gonna kill you” to sound anything like “Christmas.” But it would also be an awesome coincidence.
Yeah, that’s EXACTLY what happened.
They translated Reimu’s “I’M GONNA KILL YOU!” with “koroshimasu”, which actually means “i’m gonna kill you” AND sounds A LOT like “christmas” (“kurisumasu”). It was a really neat pun.
Just pretend you JUST AS PLANNED it as a cameo/homage to our japanese friends and nod sagely. :D
