As far as I can gather from Youtube, the fad started when someone on niconico with a faulty GoldenEye 64 cartridge uploaded a video of the enemies randomly contorting (like models in 3d games are wont to do when someone tampers with the programming) and someone else put the music under it.
This is why Japan is awesome
I find it a bit disappointing that there’s no Spinzaku version of this yet.
Someone should really make a Miku version of this, given that she’s an android… and electronic… hence it’s possible for her to malfunction as it is for an N64.
gusu-ing Sakuya is gusu-ing… (o_O) and cute. Clearly she can’t slow time enough to beat a malfunctioning Nintendo 64.

@Suikama: Spinzaku one was obligatory here. With all that and Zero hips dance, I expected it and was one of the first ones before there were over 100 in one day.
And I forgot to mention that the Patche one is the one that has scared me the most so far.

Someone in Nicovideo said that Sakuya/Meiling one and Tenshi/Iku one are not “Get Down” but “Pettan” (flat chest.)
And for them, the lyric should not be “Yureru Mawaru Hureru Setsunai Kimochi” (vacillate round-and-round touchable bittersweet emotion), but “Yurenu Hazumanu Huruenu Setsunai Kimochi” (not-swingable not-bouncable not-shakable (something)… so painful pathod.)
