Wasting time

So yeah, I wasted the last few hours reading things on TVtropes once again (“Oh, maybe I’ll just read that one article, there’s no way I’d end up reading hundreds of other ones”). A few minutes ago, I remembered I was going to update this site, then couldn’t think of anything and decided not to bother making anything that even remotely looks like I put effort into it. And here it is!

Also, I will not provide a link to TVtropes because it will most likely end up in many wasted hours — if you don’t already know what it is, please don’t Google it unless you have hours to waste or are prepared to face the consequences. Or if you are the kind of person who is immune to wiki-like websites with loads of links to other interesting articles.

• Missed the 15th

• first is the worst

see above

• I have been having fun with the MMO Ghost X. Like a beat-em-up but in 3D. It’s also in beta so expect a lot of fun glitches and crashes but I am liking it as a time waster at the moment.

• IS LIKE THE PADS, IS ALSO A LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

• first is the worst

What how did you do that

It said it was posted the 16th just awhile ago. That Keine, bending the truth to better suit humanity… that’s just irresponsible.

• Good ol’ TVtropes… No wait it isn’t good, it’s distracting!!
Especially since they list other links in the bottom.

• Why everyone is lying!? DX (following the mood…)

• The Touhou tropes and Touhou character tropes pages alone took up half a day for me recently… >_<

• Also: WHHOOOOAAA!!!
It says this was updated on the 15th!! But it just updated a few minutes ago!!
It’s a lie!! LIE!!! LIE MEILING!!
CAKE IS A LIE!! CAKE!! LIE!!
CAKE IS A SPY!! Spy sappin mah sentry!!
And enough of that, goodbye.

• Ah yes TV Tropes – one of the two most addicting things the internet has to offer (the other being Nanaca Crash). So innocent and yet so evil (sneak a link to an unsuspecting person and watch as they struggle to stop). >:D

• Well, actually I found that links to TVtropes aren’t so bad if it’s not a link to a specific article (links to the main page aren’t actually very interesting), but I guess it’s still better not to link it at all.

Also, in regards to Keine’s history changing, this blog post went through a few seconds after midnight because I wasted time deciding what to write and typing up that text when I could have just posted it and edited it later, in addition to the fact that the site was being suspiciously slow for me right after I clicked the “post” button, but yeah. Keine fixes everything though (“Keine” perhaps being a code word for the “edit” button?).

Interestingly, the only times I’ve missed a day are when I make the post a few seconds after midnight (as far as I can remember, this is the only time), or that one time when daylight saving time happened but the site time was still an hour ahead (meaning it was 11pm here but 12pm on the site), though technically the latter one didn’t count. Nothing major, though; if I do happen to miss a day by more than an hour or something, there is definitely something wrong! (most likely an internet connection problem or something though)

This comment turned out looking a lot longer than it was when I typed it.

• Oh, my, TVtropes. Hadn’t a clue that you’ve been there too. Heh… I can’t count just how many hours I’ve wasted on that site. But they were hours well spent…

• “many wasted hours” = Stolen from Muffin, AMIRITE?

• first is the worst

Names have been changed to protect the guilty:

[18:13] Ok the update was probably meant to have been on the 15th instead of the 16th but KirbyM got distracted by tvtropes so the post was late and was on the 16th (by a hair I guess) and now it has mysteriously changed so that the post claims to have been made on the 15th

[18:13] Editing one’s blog post to say the 15th isn’t -that- mysterious.
[18:14] Yeah but then you could theoretically make blog posts in 3009 and not notice
[18:15] or have a blog post that cleverly would be in the past like in 1812 or something but nobody would see it because it would be stuck way at the bottom where nobody bothers to look
[18:15] But more pressing is the issue that the post was late! And was on the 16th! And now it’s on the 15th! This kind of cover-up is why the economy is failing and CEOs are getting strung up for massive fraud
[18:16] Mmmhmm.
[18:19] …
[18:20] it sounds like you just wrote Wa;fas’ next daily flash

• first is the worst

… or in this case completely omitted entirely.

• TV Tropes–been there, done that, wasted the afternoon away. At least twice. In one week. Ahem.

• Silly first is the worst! That’s why you use < and > for < and > :P

• Will you use the info from tvtropes to make one of those long flashes you used to make OH SO LONG AGO?
You know, those with story, character development, color and the *POP* sound.
PLEEEEAAAAAAAAAASE!

• I dunno. I never found TVTropes to be that addicting. I’ve wasted a bunch of time on Wikipedia, but TVTropes just doesn’t seem interesting to me or something.

• I.

HATE.

TVTROPES.

Especially since many of the links go to something completely different than what they say. For example, you click a link that says “I like jelly beans” and it takes you to something about Nixon.

• Imperishable Fairy

I both love and hate TVTropes.

It’s like, you check if there’s an article on something, five minutes later you have six windows with 30 tabs each.

• Yeah… this definitely made it on the 15th… just barely

Anyways… I am one of those people who is immune to wiki-like sites… I tried to waste hours on TVtropes but failed(?)

• I actually created a PHP function which automatically warns about TVTropes links …

• @giascle: Well hey, maybe Nixon really liked to eat jelly beans. I personally don’t care much for them, however…

• Yeah articles and related articles can be rather addicting. I remember one time, not in TVtropes but still, I had tons of tabs out and it slowed my connection and stuff. Had to read some articles to load the others. (But then again, my connection is pretty bad alot of the time.DX)

• Ah, is it just me or has Unnamed Character’s hair grown longer?

• @jimbobwolfman:Don’t want to get you surpri(ry

• @KirbyM: Oh Kirby, don’t be silly, there’s no way one can get distracted by a mere link to… OH MY GOD YOU LINKED THE CHEN FLASH CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!

• TVTrope is the best thing the Internet have ever created. I love wasting time there, getting more and more information. Who knows, maybe if I’ll read every article there, I’ll become powerful enought to bend reality! Muhahaa!

Maybe Yukari created TvTropes. It’s her REAL power.

• Augh D:
I’ve wasted many an hour and left many a piece of homework incomplete because of TVTropes. Wikipedia used to do it to me, but now it’s that blasted TVTropes. D:

@jimbobwolfman: It was Sankaku Complex, right?

• You waste a lot more time when you put the browser into full screen mode and have your curtains closed. It’s like time never changes so you just keep clicking links. You can waste up to 16 hours!
Maybe it’s just me though.

• Nothing wrong with wasting time on TVTropes. It’s educational and fun!

Funucational!

• I almost got abducted by TVTropes! O.o!
It’s true when people say that if someone told you not to do something, you wish to do it even more -.-“

• Oh my Goddess, I just spent this WHOLE DAY on TVTropes, just because KirbyM mentioned it and that reminded me something I wanted to check out. Damn.

• Articles I read today:
Masochists Meal
Best boss ever
Best level ever.
And that’s all.

• @Fubu72
Not often in cartoons it doesn’t.

• You know the first site I clicked on after surfing TV Tropes for about 6 hours now was this one.

o look, a post on tv tropes

• I do mildly envy people who can get away from TVTropes after a few hours of being stuck in it. Last time I went, it took me 3 solid days before I could dig myself out.
