Yeah, I don’t really know where I was going with that ending either. But anyway, actual food rarely looks like it does in menu pictures, in good and bad ways (mostly bad). Most of the time the actual food looks worse, but there are occasions when I’ve seen pictures of food that doesn’t make it look that great, but the actual thing is much better. This seems to apply mainly to burgers though (however, “the actual food looks better than the one in the picture” one doesn’t seem to ever apply to fast food restaurants). So basically, uhh… don’t judge a burger by its picture? If it looks really good in the picture, it’s probably not what you’d expect.

Also it some times pays off to simply order what some one else got.
But the photos of the food should be a accurate representation of what they offer.
I think the problem is eating at restaurants where they have pictures of the food on the menus. Clearly they’re not catering to the types of people who’ll have the gumption to send their food back.
Actually, my english teacher told me once that they aren’t photos of actual meals – in advertisements, at least. Burgers are often made of plastics and wood and spraypainted to look MegaJuicy(tm). It’s the same with chips; they’re bits of cardboard glued to make a perfect fan shape.
Like oneechaaaaan says, I heard that that food is fake, and the poor actors who have to bite into them for commercials have to spit them out after each take.
happen me an inverse example…i was invited for a old friend to a pretty place where have a GREAT variety of ice cream flavors.then,we choose two ice cream desserts from the menu…they look delicious and all…but look a bit little…oh well,we said…but when see the true…oh god! so big ice creams! we can`t eat all,even who the two are real fans to the ice cream and really was delicious.XD
and about the burger things…is because the burger of the photo is a arrenged thing,because when you make a photo in a studio you need have more control with the objects,and with the foods,is more complicated.(and for psychological things too;for make look more delicious XD)
i studied advertisement for a time,for that i know really who the photo of a product no always is a true look.
