Borrowing Pencils

Okay, I don’t really like this one that much, but I just want to say that it’s kinda annoying when people borrow pencils or pens and don’t return them. Usually I start a school year with a full set of brand new pencils, and in a few weeks, I have two or three left. Most of the time I forget to ask people for the pen/pencil back at the end of class, but it should really be the borrower’s responsibility to return it. Sometimes people say things like “I’ll give it back after the next class” but never do, and that’s even more annoying. However, there are some people who will always give a pencil back even after forgetting to do so at the end of class, and they’ll hold on to it until the next time they see you, and those people are awesome.

I don’t know where I’m going with this rant, but I doubt it’s that interesting to most people (reading over it, I realized it probably makes me sound really angry, but it’s more of a minor annoyance, if anything). This didn’t happen recently or anything, but I just thought it needed to be addressed, because it is a very serious problem that runs rampant in a society where people borrow or lend writing utensils. Well, it’s not that serious.

Graduation

Today was graduation, so here’s Unnamed Character wearing graduation stuff, just because it’s related! Anyway, graduation was fine; there just seemed to be a lot of waiting involved (especially in the beginning), whether it was waiting to walk up to the stage, waiting to sit down, waiting for your name to be called, waiting to go up there to get your fake diploma (after getting the real one a day earlier), and waiting to get off stage. I think there definitely wasn’t enough practice during rehearsals in terms of dealing with all the flashing lights from cameras, and also in terms of getting used to the fact that tassel on the graduation cap keeps flying in your face whenever you walk. The speeches were nice, though.

The bad part was the fact that right after it was over and we all went outside to take photos and talk with friends, there was a huge thunderstorm and everyone had to run away to the safety of their cars or back inside. I’m sure there’s some hidden symbolism behind having a huge thunderstorm happen right after our graduation, but whatever.

And I guess it’ll take awhile before the whole “wait a second, high school is actually over now and I probably won’t see a lot of these people ever again or at least not for a long time” feeling begins to sink in. That, and beginning to think more about college stuff. And yeah. High school’s over! Will I make a daily flash about the daily flash characters graduating? Probably. Just not today.

Eye Contact

I don’t know how interesting this is going to be to most people considering the fact that it’s basically a wall of text (or multiple walls), but if my theory is correct, Unnamed Character’s thought process in this daily flash should resemble the thought processes of most people that take the subway when something like this happens, and this will be incredibly relatable for those people. Most of the subway ride will consist of staring at the floor or at some other inanimate object such as an advertisement, a pole, someone’s shoes or socks, a newspaper/book, or at the door.

Yearbooks

We got yearbooks today! It didn’t end up like what happened in the daily flash, though. Which is good.

Graduation Rehearsals

Graduation rehearsals, yeah! We had our second one today, and like the first rehearsal, waiting for everyone to walk down the aisles and onto the stage took seemingly forever, and then we sang the same song over and over again for about thirty times. Fun.
