I used to think wheelbarrows were called wheelbarrels. It made a lot of sense to me at the time, because you could slice a barrel in half and stick a wheel on one end and handles on the other and it’d be a wheelbarrow. That, and my teacher pronounced it like wheelbarrel all the time. I have no clue when I actually learned the real word for it.
hmm. Maybe it has an origin back then in the early pre england era, it IS used back then for transportation of products as an early leverage.
