I blame the lack of MMD chars for Shiki, Nitori, Alice, Suwako, and so on… Yagokoro Dance and bathsuits save the video from being a failure
Characters out of place,swimsuits and Yukkuri heads at the end…..Well nothing unexpected.After all it’s touhou we’re talking about here. (\______/)
A little disappointing that not all the models were exactly matched, but some of the “bonus” characters that showed up were still fun to see. (Nazrin with tail-mouse!) However, MMD’s algorithms for larger bustline motion and attachment to the body seem quite…unnatural. Oh well.
And yeah Kirby, if you are going to be busy next week and post even more videos you should put that recent MagNet TV show thing which featured Touhou complete with
God’sZUN’s Workstation.There is no translation at the moment though; and who knows if there will ever be.

All in all this was a disappointment. I was expecting either the actual Bad Apple dance or the characters mimicking the shadow art, not some lame wannabe Charleston maneuver.

What on earth was those dance moves that they were doing? It was like a hillbilly Riverdance!And the fact that the original was playing in the background made everything worse.

The series of bizarre moves is the “Yagokoro Dance”, a running gag/meme created (or perhaps just popularized) by the person who does all the “ZUN art” videos. As I recall, the first one begins with a long close-up of Eirin’s upper body, which bounces up and down suggestively. The camera eventually pans back to show she’s just hopping up and down on a metal plate which is being heated over a fire. Eventually, she starts moving her arms in the weird manner you see in this video. The NicoNico viewers must have liked it, because the moves kept showing up in subsequent videos.

Wasn’t the (more famous) Bad Apple video done with CG models? Why not just export those models into MMD?

I think this is less RAGE because certain characters aren’t matched up and more APPRECIATION becase it features characters that were heartbreakingly left out of the original Bad Apple vid…
