According to my APUSH binder, it is more becuase of the constant dominance of the north in political issues, such as the tarrif, the national bank, and slavery. Thus, slavery was not the dominant cause! Northern rebels like John Brown really didn’t help though! The final straw of course was Abraham Lincoln!
