Well uhh… today’s create.swf is a really minor one. It’s getting increasingly hard to find reference images of characters now (since the only ones left are PC-98 characters), so I didn’t actually add a character this time. I tried Kurumi as someone suggested, but I really couldn’t really find any images to base it on. Oh well, added Evil Eye Sigma, Sanae’s spatula-stick thing, and heterochromic eyes. Maybe I should just start redrawing the earlier characters next time, because they look kinda bleh compared to the recent ones, and it’s kinda strange for the obscure characters to look better than the ones that show up all the time.
Hmmm… you could always add items or clothes from characters from other series, such as Haruhi and Kyon from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, or Saber from Fate/Stay Night.
Yeah, but my main concern is that it wouldn’t really be a Touhou-character thing.

Aww, that’s too bad. Once my internet decides to stop acting stupid (it can’t even load create.swf right now), I’ll find you a picture of Kurumi’s boss sprite. Unless you mean that you can’t find any other picture of her. In which case I don’t know, because I can’t find art of PC-98 characters anywhere.
It frustrates me that there’s no Kurumi art anywhere. PC-98 characters get neglected so much…

About the redrawing characters: I say go for it. It may have been intentional, but for the…ahem…April Fools flash, Tewi and Reisen looked..uh…superior.

Well seeing as Touhou is danmaku, why not add some bullet fire to the create flash next time you update it?
Although I am sure it would be a lot of work (a modified or new interface would most likely be needed), it would be pretty nifty if you could work with more than one character at a time.

Hmm… last page of the “Back” selection menu seems a little odd – items aren’t neatly arranged to a grid.
Anyway, don’t sweat too much on the PC-98 characters – you’ve got pretty much all of them that haven’t been forgotten. Re-drawing the previous characters to even out the art quality makes sense. What I’d like to see though is the suggestion for working with multiple characters.
It probably doesn’t need too radical a change in the interface. You just need a section to indicate which character you want to work on at a time, with the rest ‘locked down’ as another background layer.

I think if you’re out of reference material, it probably would be best to give the other characters an overhaul. And maybe figure out how to make an input-box-thingy …

Have you considered adding completely non-canon touhou accessories? I’m thinking the watermelon sword from advent cirno, specifically, although there are probably dozens others.
