Reminders

For programs that don’t have a “never” option, I usually end up doing this. I guess it could be considered a form of procrastination.

  • Remind me to respond to this post in two weeks—oops.

  • Haha. Yeah that’s pretty much what I do, except it’s more like “remind me in a month” or something.

  • i must be too tired. took me about 6 or 7 times till i realized its looping.

  • Mine normally just says ‘Remind me Later’. It doesn’t say when.

Remind me to stop checking Walfas for an update the same day it comes out – gives me nothing to look forward to tommorrow.

  • Noramly i just have yum update all my programs once in a while…

  • Remi: Fate Manipulation 「Bill Gates」

Oh believe me, that will not work

    Remi: That will Work!

    2 Weeks later…

  • it becomes so routine that if you do update…you’ll start missing reminders…

“hmm…i never realized how quiet this room actually is….oh update reminder…where have you gone?…why did i take you for granted?”

  • type in http://mabinogi.nexon.net/

    oh a movie

don’t show me for a week

    week later

    type in http://mabinogi.nexon.net/

    oh a movie

don’t show me for a week

    repeat 15,499 times.

    boy this seems familiar…(endless 8)

  • That reminds me!

    …..

Nothing in particular, I just wanted to say that.

  • Just install the update already D:

  • Lancer said “repeat 15,499 times.”

    I thought OH GOD NO!

  • @Pipokary: May I ask what your addiction to Remi is?

    …She’s mine >:(!

  • It loops FOREVER o_o

Anyways… Every 90 minutes that pass, I get a reminder from the Rogers Virus Scanner, and I keep forgetting I’m supposed to do it, so I always click later. Hell, not even a day had passed o_o

  • “Windows has finished downloading an update. You must restart your computer in order for the changes to take effect. Your computer will automatically restart in 5 minutes.”
    [Restart now] [Restart Later]

Me: “STUPID THING KILLED ME IN MABINOGI!” *clicks on Restart Later*

    15 minutes later…

  • As I was reading the comments for today’s flash a program on my computer popped up saying it had updates.

I clicked “Remind me later.” :3

  • Dammit KirbyM,
    does this never end?!

  • Those silly reminder things are annoying since they pop-up for no reason and they want you to do as they say. Only until you see the quote:

“You have a nice computer, it would be a shame if something happened to it.”

    Than you must comply.

  • And an Update Reminder just pops up!! I see what you did thar, KirbyM.

  • @Pipokary & Tesmy: Oh, you people are so silly.

  • GAHHH! A LOOP! will it end?

frank archer: ask me in 2 weeks…

me: AH! NOT YOU TOO, COLONEL!

  • Omg I do that all the time >_>

  • @Fubu72: And what makes you say that? [Respond Now] [Respond Later]

  • This reminded me of the “Endless Eight” arc of Haruhi
    I WANT NEW CONTENT

  • I’ve actually a few programs on this computer with a “never remind me” option.

They usually end up popping back up a couple days later, disobedient bastards. >_>

  • Why Don’t you just not press either of them?
    works for me

  • I see what you did there

  • things like this always happen while im doing something, on time on mabi i was wandering around, im in front of this bear and mabi window minimizes with a pop-up saying windows update restart for changes to take effect (remind me later). *opens up mabi* your character had been knocked out

    “God dammit!”

  • I do this a lot, too, except in the one thing where Windows has the little 15-minute countdown, I’ll hit “Restart Later,” leave my computer to do something, then come back… to my login screen.

It makes me want to cry. D:

  • I don’t have this problem anymore, and I will give you the answer that helped me end with it… Stop playing online games! XDDDDD
I did it and I have never experienced this again, but I still wonder why XDDDDDDD

  • It’s worse with Nod32. Y’know, it updates itself at least 5 or 6 times a day, and it reminds me, whatever I’m playing. It’s really annoying when you’re trying to beat Yukarin on Phantasm…

  • LOOOOPING

Yeah I hate these reminders too. I’ll update when I want to >.>

  • Ah, I love these infinite loop Flashes. =D
Also, that reminds me of the dreaded Norton Antivirus, where the longest time you can disable it for is until a reboot of the computer.

@Blargel: That’s why I usually drag the message to the bottom-right of the screen, as far out of view as is possible, instead of clicking “Restart Later”. I know it seems lame, but at least that way it won’t re-appear in the middle of the screen again.

  • @Tesmy:
    [Respond Now] [Respond Later]
Nothing. Nothing at all. *Hugs plushie*

  • @Fubu72: You have a plushie, yes, but trust me, I have something A LOT better…hehehe…

  • @Tesmy: Oh… I see what you did there ¬¬

  • @Tesmy: HOLD IT!! Is it pr0n perhaps?

  • wow lot of mabi players that are drawn to walfas, and or touhou related things

  • @Fubu72: Well, that’s one of the things I have better, though I don’t look at Remi pr0nzors too much.

  • @Tesmy: TAKE THAT!
Your “…hehehe…” sounds like that of a pervert! If it is not pr0n then what could have it been that “something A LOT better” you mentioned that could have caused that chuckle!? ( `・ω・´)σ!!

  • Is like seeing myself xD

I was doing that each 2 weeks too with a “program” xD

  • I actually had to do that sometime late last night.

    – Reinactment –

*Tesmy is playing EoSD on Normal because he’s a noob*

Your update is ready to be installed. [Restart Now] [Restart Later]

    {Loop above scene every 5 minutes for about 3 hours}

…Except, for some reason, it wouldn’t let me select the [Restart Now]

  • reminds me of the episode in haruhi
a friggin 4(IF WE’RE LUCKY) episode story arc with parts that are exactly similar? the only thing we found out on the 3rd episode is that it occured one loop after the previous episode, which is either extreme luck, or from now on someone is telling mikuru to go back to the future and then she figures out she can’t and blah blah blah. one would think the time loop would be done after 2 episodes >.>

  • Whoa, creepy, the update notice for McAfee came up while I was watching this

  • Usually I end up getting sick of them and just install if I don’t have any important programs up haha.
