I didn’t know what a scantron was until sometime last year. Or maybe it was two years… or one and a half. Well, it was around when I had that SAT prep course. I knew what they were, I just didn’t know they were called “scantrons”; most people just called them “bubble sheets” or something, so at first I thought it was some sort of machine, and was disappointed when I found out it was just a sheet of paper. Anyway, the problem with them is that when you get too many of the same answers in a row, you start to doubt yourself, especially if the filled-in circles make a neat repeating pattern!
Today’s general chemistry test was a 60-question multiple choice thing, which I’m not used to at all. Plus, we used scantrons, which I never did in highschool except for standardized tests. We went over the questions right after we took it, and I did pretty well! Way better than the first gen chem test. As for the linear algebra midterm I also had today, that didn’t go so well.
Funny how you didn’t realize what a scantron was until one/one-and-a-half/two years ago. The term was familiar to me in the sixth grade, but that’s just me.
Yea i did this a lot too in high school (which im still in, senior year) and i doubted myself also when i got so many answers in the same row or in a pattern like A B A B A B A B A B A D A B C B and so on or just AAAAAAAAAAACA stuff like that.
ive never been able to make a doodle out of mine though
I actually saw scantrons more in high school then I do in college because most of my professors resorted to using essay questions or other non-multiple choice.
Know what you saying. Once , I had all of my answer A… after thinking about it I came to decide that it was more probable that I was mistaken, so I revised them all. After 10 minutes of revising all of the answers, I changed one of the answers, just one. Incredibly (yeah, right), the only wrong answer was the one I changed -.-
By the way, the only thing I hate those bubble tests or scantrons as I know now they are actually called (pretty useless knowledge XD) is filling those cursed bubbles it takes me 92% of the actual test just to do that -.-
Scantrons do go in a machine, though!!! But yaaa.. we did it a lot in HS..
this is a nice flash!

whenever i have the same answer in a row, i would go back and pick other answers because i felt that i would get them wrong
Hee … yeah, they were used for a bunch of my classes in college. Not so much in high school, tho.
hate scantrons, i see them so much at my school D8″””
and darn this flash, its reminding me to prepare for my chemistry subject tests T.T”
Wah, bubble sheets are actually called ‘Scantrons’?! NO WAY THATS IMPOSSIBLE *seriously didn’t know until today* XDDD
Obligatory XKCD comic.
NO WAI THATS IMPOSSIBLE. THEY CALL IT SCANTRONS THERE.
oh lol
I once had a professor who made all the answers on a scantron A to mess with us, he had tenure he could do whatever he wanted.
It wasn’t as funny as it sounds.

I prefer the multiple choice one rather than the essay. I just don’t like writing answers in long sentences.
Oh… it’s called scantrons? Has been using it for 12 years , first time knowing it, thanks!
I use them for pretty much every single test in English and Science.
Most of the answer combinations I got looked like weird guns
And I think I learned clairvoyance in papers using these scantrons. About 75% of my guessed answers are correct. Yay for 12 years of training!
Wait, you’re taking Linear Algebra? Weren’t you just taking Calc I/II, like, last year?
@eidrag your avatar looks like my alchemist in etrian odyssey!
“he problem with them is that when you get too many of the same answers in a row, you start to doubt yourself”
So true. So true…

15 more flashes till 300, another epic animation?
we had a scantron test today but we had a booklet that had all the questions and stuff.
@akumu
yeah, I picked it up from Etrian Odyssey because I like alchemist. Maybe I should use alchemist from Etrian Odyssey II?
Are all of you thinking of “Well, I had marked my paper, but is the machine would be able to scan it?” when using scantrons?
