Touhou Sitcom Parodies (And art classes)

Found this earlier today and thought it was interesting. Here’s a Touhou parody of the opening themes of Full House and Friends, using the Touhou character models in GTA.

In other news, today was my last day volunteering at the computer center. Overall, I guess it was pretty fun. I got to help out a bunch of people with their computer-related issues, and when there was nothing to do, I could just browse the web. Anyway, this doesn’t mean I’ll have nothing to do until school starts, because I’ll be taking an two-week (or at least I think it’s two weeks) animation class starting Monday.

I don’t remember if I’ve explained it here before, but basically, one of the things I painted in art class was chosen as one of the winners of some art contest. The winning pieces were displayed in some office building somewhere. It’s a weird place to put artwork, but apparently it’s so the workers can appreciate the artwork made by New York City school kids. Anyway, as a prize, I was given the choice of a $125 gift certificate to an art supplies store or an art class to take over the summer. I decided to go with the art class, and saw that one of the classes was an animation class, and I was like “Oh hey look at that, it’s animation” and yeah. Interestingly, the art class would’ve cost almost $1000 if paid normally, so I guess I chose the better option (I don’t really need art supplies anyway, since most of the artwork I do is on the computer).

Kenda Marisa (and catfall)

I found this video today. I don’t really get it (or what she’s doing), but the animation’s nice.

In other news, here’s some cats falling. I made this for no apparent reason earlier today at the computer center (the one I’m volunteering at), then I sent it to myself through the power of email and added some more cats when I got home. I don’t really know what this is for, but it’s cool, and I haven’t made these kinds of flashes in awhile. Interestingly, the swf file is only 1.4kb!

AP scores

almost nine.

Well, I got back the results from that AP exam I took back in May. I got a five (out of five!), but it’s kinda weird because it didn’t come to me as that big of a surprise (unlike that time when I found out my SAT scores). It was just like “Oh, I got a five. That’s nice.” I think it’s because I kinda knew I’d do well. I really liked that essay I wrote about pennies, and I’m guessing the exam graders did too. I’d post what I wrote, but they don’t send back a copy of the essays. Or if they do, I didn’t get them.

In other news, when I was volunteering at that computer resource center today, I had to help some people film something, and it was quite painful. It involved fighting over a piece of gum, and there were some parts where I had to fall down. Since I’m not very good at acting, we had to redo the scenes a bunch of times to get it right, and so I had to fall down… a bunch of times. Now I think I have a newfound respect for people who act as stunt doubles in movies.

(I’m only posting this video because I can’t find any other video to post)

Well anyway, I started volunteering at the computer resource center today. It’s kinda cool, but uhh… I don’t think I’ll be writing much about it unless something super-interesting happens, because I’ll have to show people my flash stuff and they’ll have to see the site (if you’re one of those people and you’re reading this, hi). Yeah it’s always weird to write about people when you know they’re gonna see it, so I’ll avoid doing that. Anyhow, I got home and watched half an hour of educational childrens’ television programming on PBS and then fell asleep for about two hours. Yeah.

マリサスF OP 【東方×マクロスF】

Just found this today: a Touhou parody of the Macross F OP. I’ve never watched Macross F (same with most of the other Touhou parodies I find), but this is quite awesome, except for the low framerate which makes it seem a lot less smooth.

In other unrelated news, I’ll be volunteering at a computer resource center for the next few weeks because I need volunteer hours for school. I’m guessing it’ll be pretty fun, because like… there are computers there. Except I guess it’d also mean less time to work on flash stuff. But then again, some of the computers there do have Adobe Flash CS3 on them, so yeah. Although I doubt that’d count as volunteering.
