Pricing

They’d probably never make it as blatantly obvious as this, but they’d do it secretly, with additional costs for shipping and handling or taxes or something. Although I’ve never actually bought anything from one of those “CALL NOW AND BUY THIS PRODUCT WITHIN THE NEXT TWENTY MINUTES” commercials, so I don’t actually know how they handle things.

Oh yeah, and here’s a new flash game from Chibitami, starring Flandre.

  • I’ve always wondered, how do they know if you called within the next 20 minutes? I mean, yeah, for those 30-minute infomercials, but the normal commercials on normal channels that are only 30-seconds long and are jammed between the beer and movie commercials? How the heck do they know when their commercials are being shown? Or do they just assume it’s always being shown every 20 minutes and are actually just offering the same price all the time and just use this trick to try and get you to buy now before you forget about it or have time to think it over? Things like that.

  • Darn, you comment fast. Before I got to edit the article with the Flan game, even. Also, the site seems to be crashing randomly since yesterday night. Hmm.

  • @Kobayashi

They always have the “Call in the next X minutes” “offers” on

Even if you call at 12PM midnight on some random day

So in other words, you’re not getting any sort of “special deal”
Free shipping if you call in the next 10 minutes? If you call 3 hours later, it’ll still be free shipping.

  • Oh and I got 81 points in that game :D

    (Yeah I suck :/)

  • OH THAT LONG-HAIRED CHARACTER.

  • Another reason to have .99 on a price is to get around taxes in some cases. Charging for an even dollar in a majority of the states makes the price go up that extra penny for every dollar. When you start to get into larger numbers, that can mean a lot.

  • @kobayashi and CBS, the “20 mins” thing is probably real. I don’t know that for a fact, though, but it’s very possible. They pay the channel to show that infomercial, and it costs differently at different time(s) of the day. If they have the time at which that commercial is showing, I dont see why they can’t do the “call now in 20 mins” thing :o

  • Hard game, but fun.

  • my grandfather points these things out all the time

  • @ espionage>
It is not real, i can assure you that

  • 153 points in 2 mins 40 seconds

    fun game

also, wiki is the answer to life, the universe, and everything (including today’s daily flash).

  • oh ok, thanks

  • I’ve always questioned if the original price was just a ploy to make us think we are saving money from the 20 minute offer thing.
They always seem to play the same commercial for the past 5 years with the same time offer… next to that they all play on different channels so it seems somewhat unlikely that the offer is actually an offer.
Might be me just being paranoid… who knows.

  • @espionage

    Believe me, I’m not joking.

  • Oh wow, moe puzzle game is moe.
Also, I thought Short-Haired Walfas is the (9)… (Too lazy to figure out how to type the circle-9…)

  • Nah, that’s just Nameless Character.

    And Flandre is cute. n.n

  • Wait, isn’t 3 payments of 35.55 more expensiver than 99.99? :

  • @Choja

I think that was the point.

  • Ehh!?
    now that’s just silly.

  • Schroedinger’s Cat-In-A-Box?
It may arrive at your door dead or alive?

  • The best example is this one commercial with a count down timer stating that the special offer ends in ten minutes. Then at the end of the ad, I switched channels and found the same ad starting over. Thus these ads are silly.

And now a word from our Sponsors, Edgeworth.

  • Cat-In-A-Box, but I thought Ran already had Chen.

  • I think Chen might be in that box, boxing gloves and all. Then, when the box is opened, POW! Knock Out!

That balancing game is pretty easy. Right up to the point where you start chaining colors together…

  • @Mister
That balancing game is pretty easy. Right up to the point where you panic and make 10-crystal chains at the ends of her wings. >_

  • @Letty: Yes, but then you get Colourful Flan, who is colourful.

What amazes me as that this doesn’t happen:

    割る割るフラン。^^

Perhaps it’s just me who has a twisted mind.

Another nice find, KirbyM. I sometimes really wonder how you find these things.

  • It made the rounds fairly quickly among the Touhou fandom. Yu-ki has made several very nice flash games in the past, so I have no doubt a few people check hi… her? site on occasion.

  • And now we know why we must hate Issac Newton to “invented” gravity… Look at poor Flan…
