Such a mindless holiday, Columbus Day. The pubic schools here don’t get today off. Almost mindless as Thanksgiving I think.

My college had its day off on Friday. And most students don’t have any classes on Friday to begin with, so I didn’t even notice until I discovered that both the library and the student center closed at 10 PM instead of midnight. *just moved and am at library right now*
At least Thanksgiving = Food.
What fun or pleasing things do we get to do on Columbus Day? I’ll tell you. Nothing, that’s what.

My sister once complained to her class about people who said Columbus discovered the United States.
Bro ranted about how he doesn’t get a break, apparently Columbus wasn’t important enough I told him.
They actually changed it to “Fall break” at most of the Universities in my area for political correctness… Unfortunately, the “break” is only 1 day long. The high schools still observe “Columbus Day,” though.
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, eh! Lets go eat bacon, donuts and drink Tim Hortons coffee!

Poor Columbus… he deserves some love. After all he sailed into the unknown with 3 nutshells triying to do what nobody else managed to do before… Yes, he failed, Magallanes was the first to do instead (not really, he died in the journey, but well) but he reached a Continent where no European was before (except the Vikings, but well).
For that he deserves at least a day… after all, they named the continent after someone else. :D
I thought it was going to end when the first “AWESOME” was said.
