Today is Earth Day! (Or yesterday was, depending on your timezone) I didn’t really bother doing anything to show that I cared about the environment, except… well, not throwing trash on the floor, but I do that every day. Anyway, the fact that today was Earth Day wasn’t really mentioned that much in school, except on a bunch of posters that nobody really spoke about except maybe one person. And to avoid turning this into a post about the social implications of Earth Day (as if Headphones Character’s monologue wasn’t enough already), I will end this post after this sentence is finished, which will be now.

I just realized that not many Touhou characters wear green outfits. China and Youmu are the only two I can think of off the top of my head. (EX-Keine doesn’t really count, as she’s more often depicted in blue, human form.) There are more characters with green hair than those with green clothes.
Utsuho wears green (partially), she must really care about the enviroment!
What I did for the enviroment was watching a boss fight from a Live-A-eviL Touhou fangame which I won’t mention becouse of it being spoilers… but after watching that I really want to protect the enviroment now.
Looked to see how the fruit trees my brother and I planted were doing. My plum tree is growing leaves and branches while my bro’s peach tree is just starting to grow leaves.
The pruning job I did on them a week ago is working well.
Oh well. In school yesterday, though, we went all around town and picked up trash. We eventually came to this one hidden clearing in this forest and found a bunch of crazy stuff. Like a rocking chair. And two weed whackers. And too many beer bottles to count. I think I would’ve keeled over if we’d seen the corpse of the dude who lived there, though.

Earth Day… heh. It reminds me of when, last year, Google changed the background of their home page to black to give people the false impression that they were doing something good for the planet (saving energy). The fact that LCD monitors (which are probably being used more than CRTs now) actually use more power to display black than white (since the neon backlight is always on, the liquid crystal must have electricity applied to actively block the light as much as possible) seemed to pass them by.
