Acceptance Speeches

Wow, just… wow, I never in my life expected to have the opportunity to make a speech about making a daily flash about a generic character making an acceptance speech. I don’t know what to say, I’m so surprised to have the honor… I’d like to thank this generic character, who taught me indirectly that it doesn’t matter how long you go without making a daily flash about acceptance speeches, that it’ll happen sooner or later if you work hard to achieve this goal. I’d also like to thank this Wacom tablet, because without it, I know this wouldn’t have been as easy to do. And of course, I’d like to thank the pen stylus thing that came with the tablet, because we all know they’re a team, and can’t work without each other. Both of them taught me the power of teamwork, and that is the most important… what do you mean I’m out of time? No one told me about a length restric

  • His life has meaning now.

  • My high school graduation had a valedictorian give a speech where she compared life to her favorite Disney cartoons. I shit you not.

  • To be honest, I didn’t read the wall of text n___n

  • These comments sure are… meaningful.

  • Yup, they are

    also, ⑨th

  • The only acceptance speech I ever made was for a class on public speaking. I wish I can find a copy of the speech that I made up for The Golden Taco, which was rather hilarious. Or nerdy, depending on the numerous references I made to places like Taco Bell and Del Taco.

And mail mix-ups are rare but it is cool to walk over and give people their mail.

  • KirbyM, congratulation!!!You just have won something random because of a random contests. while the price are equally random, date of receiving it also a random.

Now, for your random winner acceptance speeches, if you may…

  • Now I want to see people randomly give acceptance speeches for happenstance things. This was awesome.

  • I was used to recite this acceptance speeches back at elementary school… now I’m a full pledged ⑨

Wait, “Leave a Reply?” Wow… just wow. This was really something I never excepted. To be able to comment on a flash about acceptance speeches, this is truly a really important moment that will change the course of my life. I’d like to thank first of all of course the creator of such an inspiring daily flash, KirbyM, becouse his work is AWESOME! I also thank the Generic Person Clone in the story, as his determination and appreciation of what is given to him is truly a life-changing lesson. I have no words to explain how heartbreaking was the scene in where he discovered that his ilusions were all a lie as the mail wasn’t mean for him and that-*SUDDENLY, DEATH BY HUNGRY YUYUKO*

  • thanks…. is such an amazing moment right now… i mean, i always wanted to comment on a post of a daily flash based on generic character making an acceptance speech… thank you all, really… T.T

  • Princess Meau-Meow-Miauees the third. Wow, I mean wow, this is one hell of a cat! Not only does she sacrifice her own liberty for her master, by running away so that her master will be forced into a quest of self discovery, but she does it on a daily basis!! That is truely a cat looking out for her masters best interest! I think I have just been inspired into a better life!!

  • I think there needs to be a “generic character” tag now.

  • NoWaiThatsImpossible:O

Princess Meau-Meow-Miauees the third does not approve of his speech :<

  • *people stares before the acceptance speech starts*
    … Thanks.

    I’m starting to cry here!

I often have some sadistic smile on my face when someone tries to make a speech like this, but fails, since it often seems like they’ve avoided every opportunity to practise. =P

  • I believe in you, Princess Meau-Meow-Miauees the third! Oh, and Meowington, too.

  • This was supposed to be a funny comment but after reading it again I noticed that it might come as a bit offensive… so I post this instead to remind me that reading one’s post again before pressing submit might help in not making me seem like an asshole, even thought this one might too anyways.
    :/

  • I’m curious. Did you actually receive an award or something similar that you had to do an acceptance speech for, or did this idea come at random?

  • @Sean: Well, our senior dinner was yesterday (which wasn’t really a dinner as it was from 3:00 to 5:30, though one of the teachers joked that the timing did made it like a senior dinner as in “senior citizens”), and they gave out some random awards. People who got awards were encouraged to make acceptance speeches (but not required). I got some sort of certificate of merit from the computers and technology committee of the United Federation of Teachers, though I didn’t make a speech or say anything. Most people just either said “thanks,” made a joke, or didn’t say anything.

  • Ah yes… tearing down people’s dreams without even realizing it! Awesome

  • Huh. Kirby’s daily flash acceptance speech got cut short. Did he accidentally say “Candlejack” or someth

  • I don’t suppose the certificate from the UFT had anything to do with your entertaining and extensive repertoire on this site? Nah, probably for all the boring class assignments. Nonetheless, congratulations, no acceptance speech necessary. Hope the food for the Early Bird Special Senior Dinner was good, at least.

  • D’oh…this blog doesn’t accept the strikethrough tags…

  • That’d be the <strike> tag.

  • That cat doesn’t look very happy. I lol’d.

  • for no reson oyema giant swing was playing on my itunes when i was watching thing.

  • This reminds me that I have to write my graduation acceptance speech out soon.

Not that I’ll sit around practicing it all day. I want it to sound natural, even if that means I break down crying halfway through.

  • @MarisaMuffin
Ah. Silly me, I was using <s> and </s>.
