A recent study shows that this daily flash is based on all those random surveys/studies about stuff that should be fairly obvious to anyone with common sense (like this research study). Anyway, I spent way too much time making this daily flash. At first, you might not realize why, until you go back to rewatch it (for lack of a better word).
I read it first. Maybe you should just delete posts that have no content except “FIRST” and stuff. That’s what I do (or would, if anyone was stupid enough to do it on my site) …
Several left-ful research and survey had been found! Also misleading one… I guess is’s time to watch to other news channe… oh wait, that, would make me not awesome…
What is really shocking about unnecessary research that yields obvious results is how much money these researchers are actually getting. I mean, you go to school for maybe twenty years or so only to be given a six figure income to study subjects like “do seat belts save lives?”
It is rather anti-climactic to be studying for so long only to be given a task that pretty much anyone with a high school diploma or GED can do. Perhaps there should be a study on why researchers gain so much from the obvious. Then again, there are a TON of government grants that are given out yearly that allow you to study simple things. What they are I do not know; I do not own a question mark laden suit.
I am proof of the 5th grade reading 12th grade one. It made my school life kinda hard in the social part because of that though…. No one could get what I was talking about!!
Anyway, I spent way too much time making this daily flash.
Oh Kirb-Em’, you’re such a kidder! *wacks you with a fan* *BA DUM PSH*
You may be surprised to learn that staying up all night can have negative effects on an individual’s performance the day after.
…I’ll need some scientific evidence to believe this one. I’ll beat my record and stay up til 7am! Yeah!
btw, I would never smack you with a fan, but I would gladly have myself get smacked with a fan if you are the holder of that very fan, just sayin'
There’s actually a very good reason why “unnecessary” research is undertaken.
Things that are “common sense” aren’t always right. Until proven in an experiment, and reproven repeatedly until you’re pretty sure your results have statistical significance, you can’t say whether or not its true.
The unfortunate part of research is that, often times, you get the results you’re looking for. The best part of research is when you get your numbers and they’re absolutely not what anyone’s looking for. The moment you get a result that’s not what “everybody knows” is the moment when your research was necessary. And that’s what the unnecessary research crowd is going after.
For example, we all know that eating moldy bread is bad for you. But penicillin came because someone went against the common sense. Same goes for the smallpox vaccine and quite a few other discoveries.
I’m going to pipe in about how these studies are actually useful.
1) If you’re doing a “more useful” study, you can’t just cite things like “common sense” as backing for your thesis. Someone, somewhere, had to study whether cats actually land on their feet.
Recent studies made by me shows that if the user tyrannorexaur finds a tricky flash and doesn’t find out that it has a trick, he could spend hours playing the flash in case.

@Jesus159159159: I can speak of a case I know of certain person who stayed without sleeping for two weeks long o.O!
(I’m not kidding -.-“)
@Jesus159159159: Have you ever tried staying up until 10am? Or was it 11am? Who am I kidding? I stayed awake 24 hours straight yesterday… no wait, it was two days ago, I get confused when that happens. Yes, it hasn’t been the first time, but it isn’t anything near frequent. No, I don’t suffer insomnia.
One of the frames reads, “People who live in Antarctica are more likely to be attacked by polar bears than people who live in Mexico.”
There is a problem with this study: there are no polar bears in Antarctica! In fact, Antarctica is probably the one place on the globe where you are LEAST likely to be attacked by polar bears, since you’re as far away from their natural habitat as geographically possible. On the other hand, people in Mexico (among other places) do face the threat of attack from polar bears when visiting zoos.
The one about gravity isn’t that obvious unless you have a through understanding of physics.
Helium filled balloons for example. Ask yourself some years ago(before taking physics) to explain that using common sense.
I mean [s]intercourse![/s], eating bacteria can make you healthy! That’s mindblowing right there.
I kept looking through the flash trying to see as many random messages, and then I saw “A Recent Survey shows that there are some people who will waste a lot of time trying to read all of these random sentences” and now I’m mad I didn’t see that coming.
That said, there are a few more different results than I expected.
Obvious result is obvious.
…What?
first~
D;, almost first (+o.oooooooo1 sec)
things to do on a b-day:
Watch daily flash on walfas Check
eat cake check
I’m continuing to wonder how many of these comments are made before the commenter even reads the post or the daily flash.
O RLY?
@ KirbyM I’d suggest putting out a study to find out, but I think we all know what the answer would be.
hooray for Obvious results!
I salut thee Captain Obvious 8D
I watched this before commenting. I was just at a loss of words because of it’s…strangeness.
And because I was distracted with that damn Bedlam: Chapter I™ thing I’m making that nobody cares about…
that one time I posted first I actually read it. And didn’t say first. because that’s dumb.
Recent studies show that reading the post before commenting actually gives you something to comment about. I’d never realized that…
Also ⑨th I guess
forget about the ⑨th…somehow the post took ages to be submitted
I read it first. Maybe you should just delete posts that have no content except “FIRST” and stuff. That’s what I do (or would, if anyone was stupid enough to do it on my site) …
KirbyM… I’d say about half
Also… that’s a lot of second frames… upwards of 20 at the least
Several left-ful research and survey had been found! Also misleading one… I guess is’s time to watch to other news channe… oh wait, that, would make me not awesome…
FIRST! Oh wait. Yes, you should delete those.
And some of the researches in the flash are actually less pointless than the real ones.
What is really shocking about unnecessary research that yields obvious results is how much money these researchers are actually getting. I mean, you go to school for maybe twenty years or so only to be given a six figure income to study subjects like “do seat belts save lives?”

Oh sticks of fiddler! The spoiler tag doesn’t work! -_-
how about this one?
How many sentences did you come up with =D?
(I give up for today ;_;)
Long time no see, Ki!
Wait, remember polar coordinates? There’s a probability of a Polar Bear attacking Mexicans, though!
BTW, this is not a flog or something to “fight” against algae for the first comment to be posted…
(sorry for the spammage but) This was probably my favorite one (and the one with the yellow text, but I forgot to save that one…:()
I’m sorry, generally I avoid to do it, but today I could not resist the temptation
NO WAY THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE
no way that is impossible
A recent conclusion formulated by a red-haired young man tells us that people die when they are killed.
hey, i know how to spell Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, me and my friend has been saying and spelling it, lol
Mind Blown

Recent studies show that English is a language!
this is hard to read
… D’oh, font color tag fail.
Polar bears don’t live in Antarctica.
Italians are from Italy.
Dislike being slapped across the face? NO WAY THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE!
Plus, I see that you’re close to your 800th post. Just ⑨ more to go!
I like the way you’re now actually drawing a picture of Marisa in instead of writing a phrase. xD
Perhaps drawings of other charaters could replace other phrases…
*Is imagining drawing Sakuya to mean “They’re real!”*
A recent study realized by KirbyM lead to the unexpected conclusion that shows there is no point in pointless violence.
@SomethingUnreal: And thus, Hieroglyphs were created.
Oh yeah, I burst out laughing at “People die when they are killed!“
I’m going to pipe in about how these studies are actually useful.
1) If you’re doing a “more useful” study, you can’t just cite things like “common sense” as backing for your thesis. Someone, somewhere, had to study whether cats actually land on their feet.
2) Common sense is frequently wrong. See Wikipedia for list of cognitive biases: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cognitive_biases
3) University students need something to write a Master’s thesis about; they can’t all be gems.
Wow! How many phrases are there?
recent studies say that walfas.org is the best website ever.
marisa: no way thats immposible!!!!!
Recent studies show that people die when they are killed.
I just had to type that.
I’m one of the 5 percent who can identify Zimbabstralexico on a map.
I agree. People DO die when they are killed because people die when they are killed. Therefore, people die when they are killed.
Also, people who realize the text is randomized are more likely to read other randomized texts. What a shocking revelation! :O
A new government census found out today that 2/3rds of the nation’s people make up 66% of the nation’s population.
A recent flash post by KirbyM shows that some people will post comments in KibyM’s flash posts without actually watching the flashes.
Walfas = thinly disguised vector for KirbyM’s criticism of society’s ills?

JUST as informational as the flash itself.

nice little random survey gimmick there. took me a few replays until i realized

Also, Kotaku posting useless news?
NO WAY! THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE!
reasearch shows that Thagreatcreator is a girl.
in other news, her name is hikari kamiwara, and is an uke, as compared to envy, who is her seme
u.n. character: this is shocking information!

I don’t think there are polar bears in Antarctica.
