This is definitely super-important, so rather than putting it in at the end of today’s other post, it gets its own post!
KirbyM got accepted to college and is speaking in the third person!
I applied early decision to Cooper Union for engineering (The school I was touring in this blog post), and I got in! I opened the envelope and the first thing I saw was the word “congratulations,” and I was all “woahhh!” in my head. It’s four years of free tuition (I think the only thing I have to pay for is a fee of $800 a semester and books), and it’s incredibly selective (I think each graduating class has only 120 people), so I was definitely surprised when I found out.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention yesterday that I took the SAT IIs in physics and math 2 again, and it went a lot better than last time. I had the same proctor in the same room too, and I think he got better at proctoring. And this time I actually finished the physics one with some time left over, instead of having like 20 questions left! Math was same as last time, although I did feel like I had more time left over for that too.
I guess you could call this an intermission or something. Or maybe Beowulf/LHC preparing for battle by fighting this invincible FOE with an axe (even though nothing like this happened in the original poem). Well actually, I made this awhile ago, a few days before Thanksgiving, I think. That week I just felt like doing some actual animation for some reason, and I made this and I guess I forgot to post it. Originally, it wasn’t meant to be anything related to Beowulf, but I based the clothes on this since I already had it made and thought that I’d use it later anyhow.
Well anyway, I’m posting this instead of making a daily flash because SAT II’s are coming up again, and last time didn’t go so well (Like I predicted, math score was okay, but physics score was bleh), so I’m taking them again this Saturday. This time, I actually have a book to study from, so I don’t have to depend on internet resources to study. Not that there’s anything wrong with them, but I get distracted easily when I have to use the internet for something other than entertainment. In any case, I guess this is the last chance I have to get a better score, since this is the last SAT I can take before college applications are due in early January. So… yeah. I should really get to studying. Tomorrow’s and Friday’s posts are probably going to be Youtube videos, I guess.
Well, I just took the SAT IIs for physics and math (level 2) earlier today. The math subject test wasn’t too hard, but the physics was kinda bleh. Mainly because I ran out of time at the end, and didn’t get to do like 10 (or 20… or 25) questions. I don’t even know how many questions there were, since I didn’t even see the last page, but I think it’d be around 75 questions total. I probably took too long for each question or something. When the proctor said there were ten minutes left, I was still around question 40ish, and I sorta ended up rushing.
I doubt I did too well, but apparently the scoring for physics is pretty lenient, so you can omit a bunch of questions and still get a high score. I guess I’ll see when the results come back in a few weeks. I’ll probably end up taking it again in December, except this time I won’t wait until a week before the test to start studying.
Anyway, this week’s create.swf update will come sometime later today.
Happy Halloween! I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make a flash on Halloween, since I still have a lot of SAT II Physics stuff to study, but I decided it’d be weird not having anything for Halloween, so I just made this.
There were a bunch of cool costumes this year at my school, including Barack Obama, Sarah Palin, Michael Phelps (basically a guy with swimming trunks, no shirt, a gold medal, swimming goggles, and wet hair), Thing 1 and Thing 2 (From the Cat in the Hat), some dictator from the Congo (who apparently ate some people when he was alive), and uhh… a bunch of English/History teachers dressed up as characters from the board game Clue. Yeah. Anyway, go ahead and discuss your Halloween experiences and whatnot.
