Editorials

I really hate homework assignments that involve your real-life interests. We’re supposed to write an editorial about something “that I am passionate about”, but the only things I can think of would probably sound really stupid. And since when am I passionate about anything? Not that often, actually. Unless it comes to making flashes, but it’s not like I’m going to write an editorial about flash-making (Flash-making… like, what’s the deal with that?). I won’t be working on a daily flash today unless I can write three paragraphs about something (Coincidentally, this blog post is three “paragraphs” long), which may actually take me awhile because I don’t really care much about anything that would sound interesting for an editorial.

In other news, SAT prep went by pretty quickly, actually. It’s probably because we took two drills (math and reading), which took up about an hour combined. In the end, the instructor ended up teaching us how to read Korean, and I actually learned quite a bit. I never knew that the different parts of Korean characters had specific pronunciations.

The thing is, the instructor is not Korean, he’s a white guy from Seattle. He’s a really interesting person, who has done and seen a lot of interesting things, and always has these really neat and funny stories to tell. When the SATs are over, most of this knowledge about what to do on the test will become useless (unless I’m not satisfied with my grade and I decide to take it again), but these stories will be what I get out of this course in the end. Good times… good times. We have like one more week left, and then I’ll be taking the SATs on December 1st.

Blocky (and the Forces)

My actual freewrite was actually very similar to this. I just didn’t have all the “yo word up homie g” language in there. And the thing at the end actually happened. Well actually some people thought it was entertaining. I certainly did. Anyway, today it took me literally six hours to do my homework. I got home at around 1 o’clock, started my homework, and I finished at around 7. Seriously! Oh well, only two more days until break! Unfortunately, I have SAT prep tomorrow, and it’s on a Tuesday, so I’ll have to take the subway back to school from the gym. I guess it’s better to have it tomorrow than Wednesday, though, since Wednesday is the day right before break, and it’d suck to have to stay after school like that.

Conversation

This actually happened and I’m pretty sure they were talking to each other, and I was just like “wtf” at how unrelated their comments were. Unless maybe they were talking about afros in Guitar Hero 3, but I’ve never played that, and I kinda doubt that they’d be talking about that. Then again, people have some weird conversations that start from something completely normal. I’ve had some, but I can’t think of any specific examples. And yes, the flash sucks.

In other news, tomorrow is Sports Day at my school, and since it’s in the morning, I get to miss four classes! And then I have two free periods and then one last class at 8th period. Hooray! I think I was going to… oh right, that’s what it was. I was going to say “I think I was going to say something but I don’t remember what it was” but then I remembered… and… I don’t know why I had to tell you that.

Today in art class, I painted three parts of longcat on three separate sheets of paper and then connected them. It was awesome. Things like this make me wish I had something that can take photos, like a camera or a phone with one or something. But I don’t. Which sucks. Although even if I did have one, I probably wouldn’t use it much, except for rare situations like this.

Problems

Okay, so a few hours ago I thought I’d have nothing interesting to say because I didn’t expect anything of interest to happen to me today. Apparently I was wrong. First off, when I got into the train station to go to my apartment, I used my student metrocard, and there were some cops nearby, and they were all “YOU KNOW YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO USE THIS WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE SCHOOL, RIGHT?!?” and then they wrote up some sort of ticket… I dunno.

It was pretty bad because it took like ten minutes and a few trains had already passed. And the fact that one ride is only about two dollars. My dad was like “why don’t I just go back and swipe a regular metrocard?” but the police lady was all “NO IT’S TOO LATE NOW.” Sucks. I saw another police officer stop this girl because she used her student metrocard, and all he said was “Just know you’re not supposed to use this when you don’t have school” and let her go. Geez, why did I get stuck with the unforgiving cop? I’ll probably be sentenced to imprisonment followed with death by Yuyuko.

Photo day

Featuring Aya Shameimaru. Anyway I kinda had a ton of homework today, which took me about three and a half hours to do. Definitely not fun. They took photos during 6th period, which was my free period, so that’s like 45 minutes wasted! I was gonna go do my homework in the library as usual, too. Anyway, I have SAT prep again tomorrow, which kinda sucks because it’s on a Friday. No school on Monday, so the new flash will most likely be done this weekend.
