Here’s an awesome parody of the OP of an anime I have never seen. No daily flash because I’m at my other computer, which I don’t usually make daily flashes on. School is pretty much over, except for some exams. Friday is the US History regents exams, and next Wednesday is physics. I don’t actually know what I’ll be doing with the site in the next few days because I won’t be on that computer either. I think maybe (just maybe) I’ll go work on a Touhou flash if I can think of any ideas.
Anyhow, minor update to create.swf: added single Youmu sword, dark sword, and zombie eyes/mouth. The gravity well and speech bubbles now have additional settings, the names on the imageboard background are now changeable, and some problems with the fusion lab were fixed.
Here’s the flash I made two days ago about the AP exams. 48 hours have passed, so I’m guessing it’s safe to post this without getting sued. It’s not that great, as I’ve said last time: the joke is the actual test itself. I’ve kinda lost my enthusiasm for this exam after those 48 hours, so I guess I won’t be as excited to tell you what was on it.
Anyhow, for the document-based essay, the prompt was to argue for or against the abolishment of the penny. It seemed really silly for an essay topic, and a bunch of people started laughing after seeing it. What was really funny was the last document: some scanned images of pennies, heads and tails. I was just wondering how someone would even use that source to support their argument.
One of the sources was about some internet group that advocated for the “retirement of the penny”, and it was also pretty silly. There was some guy named Jeff Gore who was like “pennies waste valuable time,” yet spends his time creating a site and coming up with these calculations for how much time and money are wasted yearly by pennies, which apparently comes to $10 billion a year. The argument he makes can be found on the site (scroll all the way down), word-for-word as it was seen on the AP exam. It’s just really silly, and although pennies are annoying, I don’t like that guy’s reasoning. Anyway, I thought I wrote a pretty good essay for that prompt. I really liked it, despite how silly it was (I kinda made fun of that Jeff Gore guy a bit).
Oh well, AP exams are over for me now, which is nice. Next year, I have four AP exams to look forward to (statistics, calculus, physics, English literature). Greeeeat.
I guess I’ll update create.swf tomorrow. If you have any suggestions for new items, accessories, backgrounds, etc, and character, that’d be nice.
Darn it, darn it, darn it. I really wanna talk about the AP exams, but there’s that whole rule about how you can’t talk about the contents of the exam until 48 hours after the test. I don’t wanna get sued or anything. I guess I’ll do it on Friday. I made a flash about it, although there’s no real joke (the joke is in what actually happened). I think anyone who took the AP English Language and Composition exam today will know what I’m talking about. The document-based essay, that is. Oh, you know, that. A bunch of people laughed when they saw that essay prompt and the last source, including myself. Anyway, can’t post the flash or talk about the exam today, sorry. I reaaaaaally want to, though. It’s so silly!
Went to a college fair today, where I learned about a bunch of different colleges/universities that I would otherwise probably not be interested in. But yes, the Harvard table actually was empty most of the time (at least it was when I saw it), perhaps due to the fact that it was near the back of the gym, near the corner. Yale was there too, but their table was near the gym entrance so they got a ton of people crowding around. I wonder how the Harvard and Yale representatives would’ve responded if someone had told them “I’ve never heard of your school before.”
Anyhow, this week seemed to go by pretty fast for some reason. Tomorrow’s Friday! I wonder who I’ll update create.swf with. Perhaps PC-98 Reimu.
Well uhh, I didn’t have any time to make a daily flash today, so sorry about that. Had to go to a friend’s house to do a project, and got home at like 6:30ish. Then later, I ate dinner and whatnot, and then I had to work on an art project. Basically it was a design thing where we had to cut things out of black/white paper and use glue and stuff to create a five-panel story of some sort. The art project turned out quite nice in my opinion.
In mine, there’s a bunch of bats outside a mansion of some sort (perhaps I should’ve made it red… or scarlet) at night time, and then a girl with a poofy hat, a fang, and a set of vampire-like wings appears, and there’s this maid in the mansion who is like “oh noes, it’s some bats and a vampire!” And then it turns out that the vampire girl just wanted some tea. Or coffee. Or whatever’s in the cup in the bottom-right corner of the last panel.
I’d go scan it, but I don’t get how this scanner works, and I have to go now, so I guess I can’t do it. I might do it at the end of the school year when we get our artwork back, along with the “Pinecone-to-Patchy” transformation drawing I did some time ago.
