Education Statistics

Actually, instead of editing yesterday’s post, I’ll just post this here and make another post later today. Yeah, couldn’t get this up yesterday because when I finished, there were some problems with the site and I couldn’t upload it. And it was getting pretty late so I thought I’d just make a filler post. I was getting worried that I’d actually miss a day of posting, which would have been the first time ever, but I didn’t. So hooray for that, even though yesterday’s post probably didn’t make any sense until just now.

Anyhow, here’s this. The first thing I thought when I saw those percent-increase statistics, I thought it sounded sorta like stats in an RPG. And that’s basically it. Anyhow, it’s almost time for me to go to school now. This is probably the earliest I’ve ever posted on here (8:15AM).

Sounds at Night

Based on a true story. Two days ago, at like… 4:30am, I was awoken by some strange noise outside. I don’t know why I ignored it, but I guess I probably just thought I was dreaming or something. But then it kept repeating and eventually it got really loud and it was pretty scary. It’s like someone was screaming right outside my window or something. Then I went upstairs and my dad said it was some cats fighting. And it probably was, but it was really scary. Like really.

Late Dismissals

It probably will be pretty dark outside when we get dismissed from school in the winter, especially on Fridays when it takes an hour to get to my house; it’ll be 5pm by the time I get home. Anyhow, today was a shorter day than usual, because on Thursdays I don’t have a double period of calculus, so it’s 43 minutes shorter.

In other news, this is the 500th blog post. Wow, 500 blogs posts already! I’d probably make a bigger deal out of this if the one-year anniversary wasn’t just awhile ago. But it was.

Breakfast

First period is “breakfast” for me, and when I first got the schedule yesterday, it was like “why is breakfast on this class schedule?” I found out that it just means you don’t have to be in school for that period. But it would be interesting to have an actual breakfast class. Just like how I joke about having a lunch class because “lunch” is on the schedule and has an assigned room as well (the cafeteria, although we don’t have to stay in there). Yeah. Anyway, today didn’t seem as long of a day as yesterday, probably because I got to go in at around 9am instead of 8:13 like yesterday. Some of the people in my grade have gym at zero period (starts at like 7:30 or something), and I felt lucky that I didn’t have gym in my schedule. But unfortunately, when the second semester starts, apparently we’ll be having gym and they don’t.

First day of school

Today was a bad first day. Well, not so much of a bad first day as it is a bad rest-of-the-year. The biggest change is the addition of 10th period classes (we used to have only 8 periods a day, with the occasional 9th). Normal school dismissal time was at around 2:15, but now with all these classes and 10th period, my school day ends at almost 4pm. I guess the only good news about that is that I get to start school at around 9am (an hour later than previous years). Lunch got pushed forward to 10:30am, which is weird because who eats lunch at 10:30 in the morning anyway? In any case, since school ends at around 4, that’d be five and a half hours without eating stuff, so most people are probably going to get hungry again. Now that I think about it, there’s too much stuff for me to complain about, and I don’t really feel like doing that now, so I guess I’ll just leave it at that for the moment.

Anyway, the drawings and handwriting in the flash might look a bit different because I’m on my laptop now, and I’m using a smaller wireless mouse, so it feels different.
