Today’s videos: A Scarlet Devil Mansion band with Flandre as the dancer (and it’s actually set to music, unlike myloopedbandflashes from awhile ago!), KK Slider (From Animal Crossing) singing Cirno’s Perfect Math Class, TAMusic playing Phantom Ensemble, a short animation (that is looped for a very long time) by Urushi and Matsushita except they’re drawing the other person’s usual character, marasy playing Necrofantasia on the piano, and a… Mokou thing. The marasy video is actually from a few weeks ago and the Mokou thing was from last year, but I’ll post them anyway because they’re awesome and haven’t been posted on here yet. I don’t really know why I linked to a Wikipedia article about 2008 either.
Here are two videos from Cirno is a Genius (The second one is a parody, it’d probably help to see the original), with some super-awesome camera/lighting techniques and special effects! And create.swf! The videos look a lot better in HD. I mean a lot better. Anyway, yes. Nifty. It probably would’ve been better if I had posted the first one yesterday, seeing how it was Monday and everything…
Well in the end Reimu, Marisa, Aya, Remilia and Patchouli made it in with another 43 contestants to make 48 total.
Next will be 7 or 8 preliminary rounds which will whittle this number down to 27 characters who will join the 37 prequalified characters in the main league of 64.
In brief, these preliminary rounds will be held thus:
1. 48 characters divided into 4 groups of 12.
2. Each group will compete, the one with the most votes in each group will qualify for the main league.
3. Remaining characters are reshuffled into new groups and compete again until all 27 slots are filled.
(For more detailed information, please see the rules page)
The 1st preliminary round will be start on 0000 GMT, Monday, 19 January 2009.
P.S. In the main league of 64, each character will have a match with every other character, i.e. every character has 63 matches. This means that during each voting round, there will be 32 matches (32 characters vs 32 characters). The rules are such that during the main league voters must vote in a minimum of 8 matches.
And as you can probably guess, yes, homework took a lot longer than expected today too. Perhaps it’s because of my naps. I should stop taking naps after school… but I can’t.
Merry Christmas, everybody! Christmas sort of just snuck up on me this year; I didn’t even realize how close it was until just a few days ago. For almost the past year, I’ve been thinking “Yeah, I should probably make another one of those Touhou flashes; I haven’t done one in a long time” but never actually got around to it (Still have part of an unfinished flash just sitting there, unopened since July).
So when I remembered Christmas was coming, I thought I might as well actually make one of these again. I spent all day yesterday and a short part of today rushing to put this together, and I’m sure it does feels rushed and not completely thought through. But then again, when I first started making these, I made like… one a day (Look back to the end of August and the beginning of September in the site archives), and none of them were really well thought through either.
Anyway, yeah… Christmas is here! Parsee dislikes Christmas and wants to put an end to it, much like How the Grinch stole Christmas.
Well, that guy (Winn) has made more Touhou-instrument playing videos since last time, and this batch includes Mokou, Eirin, and Yukari. Well actually, the Mokou and Eirin ones were uploaded last month, but whatever. Here they are. The other two videos are in the full article. If you’d rather view them on nicovideo, you can click here.
It’s the 100th flash! Wanted to go with something big, like that daily flash about the 100,000 pageviews. Only this time, I’ve done more than just copy/paste frames from old flashes; I’ve edited most of the dialogue and added some other things, so now it actually flows together like some sort of weird story! It’s 176 frames long, and it’s sure to bring back some memories of the older daily flashes, if you’ve seen them.
Anyhow, thanks to all the readers who have been following my daily flashes up until now, and for all the feedback you all have provided over the months. 100 daily flashes, wooo! (There’s just something about landmark numbers like 100 that makes people go “wooo!”)
